Self-care is defined by the term itself – caring for yourself. It can take many forms but essentially includes all you do to stay healthy from a physical, mental and spiritual perspective. Often self-care is sacrificed when life becomes busy and stressful as it can seem indulgent. Caring for yourself is not self-indulgent, it is self-preservation.
Here’s why you should care about self-care: it’s GOOD for you, especially in managing stress. Chronic stress is fast becoming one of the biggest threats to our overall health and self-care strategies, particularly exercise and meditation can help curb this. Taking care of yourself has many other benefits as well as it FEELS good! When was the last time you took some time to feel good? This workshop will provide you with techniques to reflect, examine and replace.
Angelique invites you to discover the many benefits of self-care as we explore:
“If dealing with those who are undergoing great suffering, if you feel ‘burnout’ setting in, if you feel demoralised and exhausted, it is best, for the sake of everyone, to withdraw and restore yourself. The point is to have a long-term perspective”- Dalai Lama
